Dear Friend of Oakton Bands,

For over 25 years, the Oakton High School Band has hosted the Oakton Classic, one of the area’s premier marching band competitions. High school bands from throughout the region showcase their musicianship and marching skills in tough competition, as they work towards the coveted Virginia Honor Band designation.

Your support is important to the success of the Oakton Classic. In recent events, the Oakton Bands have achieved significant the Virginia Honor Band designation 16 times.

• Band students learn motivation and self-discipline that carries over to success in the rest of their school work and life. Band members:
• Band students comprise over 10% of the Oakton High School student body
• Band students actively participate in the National Honor Society, school athletics, drama, student government and clubs, as well as other community activities
