The Oakton Classic is a time-honored tradition that brings together student musicians on a field of pageantry and skill, and provides them with an exciting opportunity to display their abilities outside of the classroom. Each year, dozens of high school marching bands from throughout the Northern Virginia area and beyond come to Oakton High School to participate in one of the region's finest marching band competitions.

Bands return year after year to particpate in the Classic due to its reputation as a well-run, superbly organized event. Staffed entirely by volunteers through the Oakton Band Boosters organization, hundreds of parents, friends and families will be on hand throughout the day as hosts of this major event.
